Dr. Fritsch earned her B.A. in Psychology, magna cum laude, from Princeton University and a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from George Washington University. She gained postdoctoral certification in adult psychoanalysis from the Institute of the Contemporary Freudian Society. Dr. Fritsch has a certificate in Couple Psychoanalytic Studies from London’s Tavistock Centre for Couples Relationships.
Dr. Fritsch has a full-time clinical practice for adolescents and adults that includes individual and couples psychotherapy and psychoanalysis. She has worked as a licensed Clinical Psychologist in Northern Virginia for over thirty years. She began her career on the Adult Service of the Woodburn Community Mental Center in Annandale, Virginia, first as a staff therapist and then as a clinical team leader. She is a former faculty member of the Washington School of Psychiatry and a former adjunct faculty member of the Psy.D. Program in Professional Psychology of the George Washington University.
Dr. Fritsch is a member of the International Psychoanalytical Society. She is a Past President of the Contemporary Freudian Society. She is a Training and Supervising Psychoanalyst of the Contemporary Freudian Society’s Training Institute.
Dr. Fritsch is also Director of the SPRING Project (Support for Pregnancy – Raising Infants – Navigating Growth). This program provides affordable psychotherapy for expectant and new mothers and their families who are experiencing difficulties with perinatal depression and anxiety.
